Mysuru: The idols around Chamundeshwari temple on Chamundi hills are seeking immediate attention as they lie in deplorable condition.

The religious idols atop the temple too have developed cracks and the devotees are worried. Hence, they are seeking intervention from the authorities to restore them to their original condition.

As the government plans to develop the area on a huge scale, the regular devotees are concerned about the poor state of idols they adore. Weed growth has given way to cracks and in some cases the scorching heat of summer has caused damage due to which many parts of idols are loosely hanging.

Few organizations have already submitted their petition to the Divisional commissioner to repair and maintain them like in the past. They alleged that only during Dasara Celebrations some minor painting work is done to attract visitors and then are left alone without maintenance thereafter.
