MoU signed between ASSOCHAM & NITTE Group of Institutions

Bengaluru: ‘Industry and academia have to work together to address the challenges of skill gap and employability’, opined R Shivakumar, Chairman, Karnataka Regional Council of ASSOCHAM. He was speaking on the occasion of signing a MoU between ASSOCHAM and NITTE Group of Institutions at Nitte School of Management, Bengaluru. Further, he added that unless and until the collaboration between Industry and academia materializes, the roadblocks in bridging the skill gap shall never vanish.

Prof N R Shetty, Chairman, Karnataka State Universities’ Review Commission presided over the function and in his presidential address he stressed on the need for establishing Centers of Excellence across India at various Higher Education centers anchored by ASSOCHAM and HRD Ministry, Government of India.

As per the terms of MoU, ASSOCHAM and Nitte have agreed to work together in the areas of Skill development, both in technical and managerial disciplines. Kishor Jagirdar, Convener, Innovation and Startups Committee of ASSOCHAM, Aishvarya Nandyappa, Convener, Skill and H R Committee of ASSOCHAM, T N Sudarshan, Director ASSOCHAM, Vasan, Industrialist and representatives of Nitte Group of Institutions were present.
