Human Rights Day observed in Mysore

Mysore :District and Sessions Judge Rudramuni has stressed the need to create an awareness among the rural masses on human rights.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Human Rights Day programme organised by the district administration at Kalamandir here on December 10, Tuesday. Rudramuni further said  the human rights have also been enshrined in the Constitution of India. “It is not enough if one speaks about human rights protection, but one must  translate it into action,” he said and expressed his concern over the rising  atrocities in the society. Stating that the  cases of atrocities on women and children were on the rise, Rudramuni said even the free legal aid has not come to the  help of these people. There is a need to sensitize the society in this regard, he said.

Deputy Commissioner C Shikha presided over the function. B Nandakumar, Principal Civil Judge,  Suresh, Principal of JSS Law college, Palayya, Mysore City Corporation Commissioner, MN Arjuna, Additional DC, Basavaraju, Registrar of Mysore University, Raju, SP and others were on the dais.
