Mysuru: The High Court has ordered the state government to immediately transfer the Deputy Director of Mysuru Palace Administration Board till the investigation into the gold plating scam is completed.
In the year 2012-13, gold plating works to the tune of Rs 3.5 Crore within the palace premises were taken up after processing tender documents. However, a case was registered in the Lokayuktha against the Deputy Director T S Subramanya for withdrawal of cash to the tune of Rs 1.5 Crore without any consent from the finance department.
Later, the Lokayuktha had filed an FIR against Subramanya, considering him as accused. Subsequently, T S Subramanya had succeeded in obtaining a stay order in the case which was challenged by the Green Bench.
Green Bench had contended that it had become unviable to proceed in the case as long as the Deputy Director continued in his present position. It also claimed that his continuance would have adverse impact on the proceedings of the case and had sought his transfer.
The two judge bench headed by High Court Chief Justice S K Mukherjee, after analysing the facts related to the case, has ordered the state government to transfer Deputy Director T S Subramanya immediately, till such time the investigations into the gold plating case are completed.
