Mangaluru: A free three-day Ayurveda consultation and check-up camp will be organised at Sri Vedamaayu Ayurveda Hospital from February 11 to 13, said Dr. Keshavraj, Ayurveda physician and partner at the hospital.
During these three days, the hospital will be conducting a free health check-up camp and medicines will be given free of cost wherever possible. Besides this pulse reading, blood sugar test and diet counselling too can be done free of cost, said Dr. Keshavraj, speaking to media persons here on Saturday, February 11.
Further, the hospital will also be launching Arogya cards for families. Any member of the family can use the card, which will also entail the holder to avail a discount of 10 percent in treatment charges. Other facilities too will be introduced for the benefit of patients, said Dr Keshavraj adding that renowned Dr. Suresh Negalaguli, former principal, Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College, too will attend patients along with him. The hospital will provide medicines as well as administer Ayurvedic surgery procedures if required,” he said.
Dr. Suresh, while addressing the people on the occasion, mentioned that there are eight different departments in Ayurveda. “While most people believe that Ayurveda is all about herbs, it also consists of external medication and surgeries. Initially, the tests are done after which Pancha Karma procedure is followed. Only when external medication is not doing any help to the patients, we recommend surgery in the Ayurvedic procedure. There are preconceived notions in people’s mind about Ayurveda which must be cleared. There are different medicines for different diseases for different patients.”
Earlier in the day, the website of Sri Vedamaayu Ayurveda Hospital was launched by Raghuram, General Manager of Karnataka Bank. The hospital houses out-patient departments, drug store, specialised wards as well as a kitchen in the premises.
Shreedevi Keshavraj, Managing Partner, Sri Vedamaayu Ayurveda Hospital and Journalist Raymond D’Cunha among others were present on the occasion.
