Mysore :  The Taluk Dalita Sangharsha Samithi members staged a protest in the town on November 5, Tuesday  demanding  to entrust the Sowjanya case to the CBI. They also demanded a thorough investigation into the Dalit youth Shivanna murder case.

The protestors who had gathered in front of the DC office shouted slogans against the police Department and District Administration and later submitted memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.

The protestors demanded that all cases of unnatural deaths   reported in Dharmasthala over the years should be probed and that it was not proper to hush up the case owing to political pressure. Pointing out that justice was delivered in the Delhi gang rape case within nine months, they said even Sowjanya should get Justice at the earliest.

The agitators also demanded an in-depth probe into the Dalit youth Shivanna murder  case and  condemned the  moves of the police to hush up the case  by  considering it an accident. They demanded the arrest of the real accused in the case.

DSS District Convenor Bettayya Kote, Taluk Convener J Bheemaraj, Organizing Convenor  Mallesh and others took part in the protest.
