Piriapattana: The Congress regained state reign not because of its popularity but owing to division of votes, said the former CM Jagdish Shettar.
Speaking during the election campaign on behalf BJP candidate R T Satish at Bettadapura, near here, Shettar regretted for losing the state reign owing to internal conflicts although BJP led state administration has done better governance in its 5-year term, regretted Shettar.
The former CM Sadanand Gowda has governed the state during his term without a black spot, said Shettar who further said that CM Siddaramaiah has been issuing statements that BJP government has not waived the loans of farmers. He reacted strongly that CM Siddaramaiah had to see the statistics that it has waived farmers loans to the extent of Rs 1,000 crore, said Shettar.
Shettar urged the voters to cast their votes to BJP candidate R T Satish who is contesting from Pariyapattana legislative constituency in the assembly elections.
MLC D S Veerayya said that BJP led state administration has done development works that are in par with Congress rule of 40 years.
MLC C H Vijayashankar, candidate R T Satish, women morcha state president Reena Prakash, ZP member Dr Shivaram, exhibition Board former president Mahendra and others were present at the occasion.
