Mangalore : State Minister for Health and Family Welfare UT Khader has said that he has already instructed all officials and staff of the Health Department to initiate all possible precautionary measures in the wake of the spread of contagious diseases in some parts of the state. The Minister also warned of stern action against those erring in their duty.
Addressing a press meet at Circuit House, the Minister said he has already directed the district administration to organize a door-to-door awareness programme. Pointing out that at least six children have succumbed to Dengue in Mysore, he said he has sought a report in this regard.
He said the Government was committed to offer free treatment to the poor who get admitted to government hospitals of treatment of contagious diseases.
All officials have been directed to conduct district wise survey and submit reports within a week, the Minister said.
He also stated that the officials will be held responsible if there is any complaint from the affected areas that awareness programmes have not been conducted in the area.
He said already instructions have been issued to the authorities to repost all those employees who were appointed to the health department but later posted to other departments.
Several members of the public had gathered at the Circuit House to submit memorandum to the minister on various issues.
