Mangalore: Two more complaints have been lodged against Mangalore South ACP TR Jagannath, landing the officer in more trouble. If the second complaint is by ASI Srikala herself the third complaint is by a jeweler from Tokkottu.

Srikala in her second complaint against the ACP has alleged that he had instigated Mohan, a writer in the police department to lodge a complaint against her and her husband Sanjay Kumar accusing them of running a business of doubling investment. Srikala in her complaint has stated that the officer resorted to this move after she refused to budge to his demand to withdraw the first complaint lodged by her against him.

Meanwhile, Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar has confirmed the receipt of the second complaint. He however, referring to Srikalas argument that she did not have faith in the investigation by DCP Mutturaya as both Jagannath and himself were of the same batch, said he had no other option as there are only two DCP rank officers in the Commissionerate.

In another complaint against the ACP,  Nazeer, owner of Atlas Jewellery of Tokkottu has alleged that the ACP Jagannath  had tried to favour a man who had cheated him after purchasing jewellery.

As per the complaint,  one Majeed who  had purchased jewellery worth Rs 5 lakhs from the shop, had paid Rs one lakh and had issued two cheques in the name of his wife Maimoona. But when the cheques bounced, a complaint was lodged with the police by the manager of the firm.

According to Nazeer, the ACP who intervened got the cheques back and made arrangements to pay half the balance amount by Majeed stating that the remaining amount would be paid later. But when the full amount was not cleared, Nazeer  had approached the ACP , when the latter reportedly threatened him and had asked him to recover the money if he had the guts.

Nazeer has urged the Commissioner to initiate action against Majeed and his wife Maimoona and also against the ACP for abetting them.
