Mysore: K R Chandra Kumar Nayak has embarked on creating Guinness Record by staging different dances for 360 hours of 15 days, in order to bring laurels to cultural capital of Mysore.

Chandra Kumar has determined to stage non-stop dance in a stage erected nearby Kote Anjaneya temple, here from July 3 to July 17.  He had begun the dance by staging Shivatandava dance and continues to dance regardless of day and night, sun and rains.

Chandra Kumar is a native of Kanakagiri, near here.  He is employed in forest department and accidently hooked to dancing.  Vidushi Jaya who identified the talent in Chandra Kumar trained him in several forms of dances.

Meanwhile, Chandra felt only mastery over dance is not sufficient and was driven to achieve something extraordinary through the dance.  His wife, their children and relatives, friends supported him in his mission.  He created a history by staging a weeklong dance show in Kanakapura, in 2003 and Malleshwaram, in 2005.  Now, he has determined to break his own record in his quest to create Guinness Record.

In spite Chandra has embarked on his mission to create Guinness Record, it seemed the general public did not give their desired support.

As per authorities of Guinness Record, Chandras health should be monitored by doctors for every 2 hours. He is taking 8 hours rest to recoup energy.  Deepu and Ajay are helping him in his mission.  He consumes glucose and fruit juices and continues to dance braving rains, despite illness that needs medical care for every 2 hours.

It costscover Rs 2 lac to stage the show, it is a burden on Chandra who is not so economically stable. He has not got general support for his quest to create Guiness Record.

In spite of this, Chandra continues to dance with his different dance forms. Let us hope Chandra makes his debut in Guinness Record.
