DVS likely to Contest forthcoming General Elections

Udupi: The former CM D V Sadanand Gowda will be contesting the forthcoming general elections as BJP candidate in Udupi – Chikmagalur constituency, learnt form the sources.

The term of Sadanand Gowda as MLC will finish in June 2014 and its likely the general assembly elections will be held earlier than that.  He has decided to contest from Udupi – Chikmagalur constituency where he had contested in the past.  If he wins, he hopes to get higher positions on the strength of his credentials as the former CM of Karnataka.

Along with Sadanand Gowda, the former DyCM R Ashok, former minister Murugesh Nirani, former MLAs Arvind Limbavali and Umesh Katti, and others are likely to contest in the forthcoming general elections.

It was hoped that BJP-led NDA government likely to give top posts based on seniority, caste and other criteria.
