Mysuru: Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, former minister V Srinivas Prasad has said that change of leadership is a must.
Addressing a news conference in Mysuru on Friday, Prasad alleged the CM of deceit and stated that never in his life will he see the CM’s face again.
“I am not gaint enough to battle the Congress party, but that does not mean I will remain silent. When the CM started the Ahinda, I was in the JD(S) and he had begged before me to be a part of the same. When the Congress was hounded with fear of losing the Chamundeshwari bypolls, the Congress bigwigs like Mallikarjuna Kharge, Dharam Singh and Kagodu Thimmappa had again begged before me to campaign. This CM got a political rebirth because of Ambareesh, Srikantadatta Wodeyar and me,” he recalled adding that the CM is an opportunist and due to these kind f people, the Congress would be reduced to dust in the state.
Raking up the Hublot watch issue, he questioned if a man who dons a Rs 80 lac watch on the wrist can be a Socialist and if the CM is so innocent to have not known the consequences of accepting such an expensive gift.
Srinivas Prasad was one of the Minister who was shown the door from the Siddu cabinet recently during the Rejig. He had Revenue portfolio.
