Bengaluru: Professional photographers, including videographers in the state would remain off duty on July 2, Saturday keeping forth their various demands.
The Karnataka Photographers’ Association press note states that establishment of photography academy, health and life insurance for photographers, monthly pension, low-interest rate financing for photographers, construction of one ‘Chaya Bhavan’ in every district across the state, Provident Fund, establishment of government photography schools, education to children of photographers under RTE etc are some of the demands.
KPA representatives K Vasudev Rao, speaking to newskarnataka.com said that the photographers would stage a peaceful protest and on Saturday all the studios will remained shut and the photographers will across the state will take out procession at their respective district-level and submit memorandum to the DC.
In Udupi-Dakshina Kannada districts there are over 3,500 professional photographers and the protest rally will be taken out in both district at 10.30 am to meet the respective DCs.
