Chain-snatching spree continues in Mysuru

Mysuru: In a span of just 15 minutes, two chain snatching incidents were reported in Kuvempunagar Police Station limits on Wednesday, August 3. In both the incidents, the target was elderly women.

Sowbhagya (66) wife of late Krishnamurthy, residing near Vivekananda Circle, was drawing a rangoli in front of her house, when two motorbike-borne miscreants approached her seeking the address of a teacher. The miscreants in matter of seconds snatched her 100gm gold chain and sped away.

In the second incident, Jalajabai (63), wife of late Chandrakanth, residing in Kuvempunagar, was plucking flowers in her house. Two bike-borne miscreants approached her, seeking an address. The duo then managed to snatch her 45 gram gold chain and escape.

Earlier on July 22, three chain snatching incidents within two hours were reported in the city.

Kuvempunagar police have registered both the cases. City Police Commissioner B Dayananda, DCP N. Rudramuni and K.R. ACP C Mallik visited both the spots.
