Mysuru: The Cauvery tourism development authority held a meeting under the chairmanship of tourism and higher education minister R V Deshapande here on Monday.

At the meeting held at the regional commissioner’s office premises, the minister, elected representatives and tourism minister, discussed about providing basic facilities in tourist places, the maintenance of toilets, developing tourism in Cauvery river basin and developing tourism with public private partnership and many more issues. The panel also discussed about the waste segregation process in tourist places which has now created havoc in many tourist places.

Te committee also discussed about developments being carried out in Amba Vilas premises under the JnNURM scheme, the development of a tourism circuit and the development of Srirangapatna fort development. The committee also discussed about developing the Chamundi hills including cable car facility which would require quite a bit of land – approx 70 Acres. However the committee felt that even though 100 acres may be needed to set it up, it can create many jobs and create something exciting and thrilling for tourists. There will be another 2900 acres of land can be used afforestation of land. In cable car, around 250 people can go to and fro on the hills and enjoy the scenery.
