Mysuru: Falcon Tyres Company has failed to restart the production in the factory, despite a series of assurances. The employees union now awaits the outcome of government policy to be announced on June 18. The agitated employees have decided to continue their protest which has been going on for 3 months, and are approaching all the MP’s and MLA’s of Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagara to support their cause. A team of around 200 employees approached MLA Tanveer Sait and MLA Somashekhar on Monday morning.

A much expected high level meeting led by government committee headed by Higher Education Minister R V Deshpande, comprised Labour Minister Parameshwar Naik, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Dinesh Gundu Rao and Revenue and District In-Charge Minister V Srinivas Prasad. .
the Company’s administration had earlier assured the agitators they they would restart operations on May 15. It failed to restart and the administration blamed financial reasons; then the company again assured that operations would resume on June 1, but failed to keep its word. Finally, the company said it will restart on June 15, after intervention of the state government. This came after the Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Falcon Tyres Employees Association on June 4.
However, the owner of company, Pavan Kumar Ruia, a Kolkata based entrepreneur, has informed the emloyees through the Company’s administration that the factory on June 14th that operations would resume once financial support is confirmed.
