Mysore: If one goes about unearthing the suspense related to the death of Rajesh who had come to the city acting in reality shows aspiring for better living from his tribal village proves that he had been cheated by city-folks by issuing blank cheques that were found in his rented flat.
The glamor has indeed ruined his life forever. He did not get the money for the roles. He was in a dilemma neither to go back to his village nor survive in this city owing to lack of how to transact with city-folks. It has led him to take short cut to end his life.
Rajesh had a great fan following across the state because of his popularity in reality show in a short time. There were a few who wanted to exploit him. They have used him in reality show to shoot the movie. They made him Jungle Jacky but it did not support his living. The filmdom that was supposed to sustain him deserted him. The cheques that were issued by producers bounced and he was in a deep financial mess.
As per Rajesh’s mother Lakshamma, they were living in a rented flat in Parasayyanahundi, Mysore since 8 months at a monthly rent of Rs 4,000. Things would have been better, had the producers promptly paid him off. They would have comfortably lived, had the producer gave them honorarium of Rs 5 lac. When they called the producer, he did not bother to attend the call. Rajesh was illiterate and was being cheated, weeps Lakshamma who used to work in the woods but did not venture out not to bring disgrace to his actor son who is no more because everyone cheated him.
A few social welfare and voluntary organizations have come forward to help Lakshamma after her son Rajesh’s untimely death. They assured her to recover Rs 5 lac that was owed by a producer. They will take legal action based on cheques and signed contracts. Meanwhile, all this is ok, but none can bring back the life of Rajesh.
