Mysuru: Underworld element Bannanje Raja was brought to Mysuru in connection to 2010 shootout case.

However, during interrogation, Raja is said to have claimed innocence and said that he was being falsely implicated in the case and that there were all possibilities of some of his enemies having executed the crime using his name.

In 2010, a son of a hotelier was fired at and later it was learnt that henchmen of Raja had executed the crime.

But, denying the allegations, Raja has said that several crimes have been executed by his enemies using his name and the shootout was one of such cases.

Raja was brought to Mysuru from Belagavi Hindalaga jail. He was remanded to Jayalakshmipuram police custody for two days.

Raja is said to have told the investigating officers that he and India’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim were business associates in Dubai, till difference of opinion led to the two parting ways. He has claimed to have now got no contact with Dawood.

He will be taken back to Belagavi on Sunday morning.
