Mysuru:  Dasara elephant Abhimanyu, who arrived at the Mysuru palace premises few days ago to take part in the main Dasara procession on Vijayadashami fell ill three-days-ago. However, as per sources he is gradually recovering from dysentery.

Some days ago, Dasara elephant Gopi fell ill and now it is Abhimanyu’s turn. The incidents of Dasara elephants taking ill have left the Mahouts and the administration worried.

Abhimanyu on earlier occasions had drawn police band carriage but last year it was the flag bearer (Naushad) during procession with golden howdah carrier Arjuna. Veterinarian Dr.Nagaraj administering medicine to the ailing pachyderm remains hopeful of its recovery in 2-3 days time.
