Mangaluru: The Railway Board is on a cleanliness drive all across the nation as it has directed all the railway stations and trains in India to observe Swacch Bharth Abhiyaan. A nine-day Swachhta Saptah had been put into place starting from September 17 which has main focus on cleanliness and quality of service.

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) Assistant Traffic manager S Vinaya Kumar spoke to the media in a press conference on Friday and said, “Special emphasis has been laid on the quality of service in railways. Clean drinking water and food, other initiatives too are in order including regular cleaning of drains and clearing off dustbins frequently.”
The Swachhta Saptah had a series of cleaning drives put in order include clean environment on September 17, clean stations on 18, clean trains on 19, clean water on 20, clean complex on 21, cleanliness participation on 22 and cleanliness dialogue on 23, street play on 24 and a full fletched inspection of the food stalls in the stations and pantry cars on 25, the final day.
KRCL Manager of Public relations, K Sudha Krishnamurthi was also present in the conference.
