ABVP calls for stringent laws to nail culprits in crime against women

Mysore : The Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)  staged a protest in the city on Sunday July 20   demanding stringent laws to nail culprits in cases of crime against women.

The protestors demanded immediate steps to check the spurt in cases of atrocities on women and urged the authorities to take immediate steps to arrest and initiate strict action against those involved in the recent cases of sexual assault on young women and also a minor in the state.

Strongly condemning the Pulakeshinagar incident wherein a post graduate female student was sexually assaulted right in the presence of her male friend in a car, the ABVP  demanded that the prime  accused Nasir Hyder be ‘hanged’ and the other accused sentenced for life.

It also urged for stern action against inspector Mohammad Rafique who resorted to dereliction of duty. The Parishad further strongly condemned the  sexual assault on a six year old school by two school staff in Bangalore.  Referring to the mysterious death of college student Ratna in Byndoor, the ABVP demanded a thorough probe into the case.
