Moodbidri : It has come to light that Varidhi Enterprises which had duped  hundreds of people in Belthangady and Karkala in the name  of a lucky scheme, has also left thousands of customers in the lurch in Moodbidri.

The firm which was operating from Padma Complex behind the market in the town, had launched a scheme wherein members had to pay Rs 100 per week for 52 weeks. It had also appointed 30 agents  in the town to attract customers with a promise of a 15 per cent commission. The firm had also promised   attractive prizes like bike, Scooty and LCD TV to lucky customers.

Curiously, the firm had launched another scheme even as one scheme was in progress. After customers of the firm went on rampage in Belthangady, the owners have now locked up their Karkala and Moodbidri offices. Already several members are gathering in front of the office and expressing their ire.Many have even turned their anger towards the agents.

Meanwhile on July 20, Sunday members and agents convened a meeting and decided to lodge a police complaint. There is also information that apart from the lock used by the owners, the members have locked the office with another separate lock.It is learnt, each agent owed at least Rs two lakhs to  members enrolled by him. Already, a firm named Home Needs of Tamil Nadu origin had cheated hundreds of gullible customers in a similar fashion in Moodbidri.
