Mudigere: In what may come as a major embarrassment to the BJP, a former MLA of the BJP allegedly assaulted his wife for having confronted him about his alleged affair, on Thursday.

Savitha, wife former MLA of Mudigere, MP Kumaraswamy alleged that the latter had not been coming home since some time and when she confronted him on the same at ‘Shasakara Bhavan’ he happened to assault her.

The news which is being widely covered by visual media shows Savitha complaining that her husband has an affair with the wife of a history professor working in Kumaraswamy’s college in Hassan and that it is due to this link that he stopped being with his family.

Refusing to reveal details about the woman, Savitha said that she was not someone who would put the lady’s family in an awkward position and was hence not revealing details as of now, but if the lady does not mend her ways then she would not just reveal her name but will also stage protest outside her house.

She then headed to Police Commissioner’s office in Bengaluru and had a conversation with the Women’s Help Line Counsellor Saraswathi.

Meanwhile, Kumaraswamy has commented on the issue saying that since it is his family matter, he would settle it down at a personal level.
