Koppal: In a rare case, the police are clueless about resolving a marriage case between a youth and a transgender, after a case was registered by the youth’ parents seeking police intervention to separate the two.

In this case a youth Shivakumar from Gadageri district in Yalaburga Taluk had married a transgender named Radhika three days ago against his family’s wishes. The parents of the youth are worried as the genealogy would end as the transgender will not be able to conceive. On the other hand the youth who fell in love with Radhika at Koppal railway station three years ago, is not willing to part ways as he claims to truly love her.

The lovers have said that they are not aware of the law- that whether their marriage is legal or illegal. They have stated that they are in love and would want to live with each other.

Finally with no solution forthcoming the parents complained to the police requesting to treat the marriage as ‘null’. Now, to everyone’s surprise even police are not sure how to proceed further as the case does not appear even in the rarest of rare category!
