Chitradurga:  “Netravathi Diversion Project cannot be dropped come what may. The project would benefit  Chitradurga, Tumkur, Kolar and Chikkaballapura districts,” said Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda.
“The Yettinahole Project would be initiated in the next two and a half year period. We will study the pros and cons of the project. Discussion are being held  on the ways to implement the project without causing any harm to the Coastal districts and the Western Ghats,” the chief minister explained.

The implementation of the project is delayed owing to confusions.  The plain  land areas will get 24 TMC feet of  water due to the implementation of this project, the CM said when questioned” Who  has said that the river water that  goes waste and joins the sea should not be tapped?”
