Hubballi: Sri Ram Sene Chief Pramod Muthalik has said that condemning the Iftar party on the Sri Krishna Matt premises in Udupi, the Sri Ram Sene and other Hindutva organisations would hold agitations across the state on July 2.
Speaking to reporters here, Muthalik said that the agitation was mainly to condemn the incident and is aimed at preventing such incidents in the future which might hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
He alleged that the seer of Pejawar Matt, Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji, had disgraced the Hindus by saying that even Hindus consumed beef and demanded swami to take back his words. The agitation is against holding Iftar party on the matt premises which had hurt the sentiments of thousands of devotees of Lord Sri Krishna, he said.
While condemning the statements supporting the Iftar party at the matt, he also condemned neutral stand taken by political parties for vote purpose.
Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has extended its support to the July 2 agitation.
