Udupi: “Pejawar Swamiji has hurt the sentiments of the lHindu community by allowing Muslims to offer Namaz in Sri Krishna Temple premises thus desecrated it. Pejawar Swamiji himself must clean and purify the Matt premises with the urine of cow, said Vijay Kumar, Convenor of Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi.

Speaking to media persons at Udupi Press Club on June 30, he said, “Pejawar Swaiji has committed a mistake by organising Iftar Koota and Namaz in temple premises. The cow is holy to Hindu Community. The consumers of cow meat offered Namaz in the temple premises which hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. Paryaya Pejawar Swamiji should apologise to the Hindus. In order to pray for the Swamiji for his mistakes, under the leadership of Sri Rama Sene, we will hold a peaceful protest by offering Bhajans and prayers at Clock Tower on July 2. Prayers will be offered to Sri Krishna and a petition offered that such things will not be repeated in the Sri Krishna Matt which is holy place for Hindus.”

To a query in relation to the statement by Pejawar Swamiji that some Hindus also consume beef, he said the beef consumers cannot be called Hindus.

Earlier Mohan Bhat, Secretary of Sri Rama Sene, Mangaluru said that SRS strongly condemned Muslims offering Namaz in the Sri Krishna temple.

Mohan Bhat said that they respected Swamiji as he was strong protector of Hindus. “His role in protecting Hindus will never be forgotten. He was our leader, he is our leader and he will be our leader. We respect him. But him holding Iftar Koota and Namaz in Matt is unacceptable”, he asserted.

Sri Rama Sene District President Dinesh Pangala, Jayaram Amebekal of Hindu Janajagruthi Samiti, Sri Rama Sene leader Dinesh Nayak and others were present during the press meet.
