Hubballi: The state government has for the first time decided to dispatch the new set of question papers from Dharwad to all the 30 districts in the state. The decision comes after the Chemistry question paper got leaked twice. The PU board used to dispatch question papers every year from Bengaluru to all the examination centres across the state.
Reportedly, the question papers were brought from Nasik in Maharashtra to Dharwad on Sunday evening and it was printed there amid tight security.
Sources said that the papers will be dispatched to all the exam centres on Monday morning, following re-examination which is scheduled for April 12.
To avoid untoward incidents, the PU Board officials have been closely supervising the transportation of the papers.
As a precautionery measure, the district administration has imposed prohibitory orders within 200-metre radius of the building where question papers have been kept.
As many as 30 trucks arrived at the venue to carry the question papers to centres like Bengaluru, Bidar and Mangaluru.
Sources said that a team of IAS officers will also be dispatched to monitor the exams along with PU officials. CCTV’s will be used to monitor every move. The question paper was prepared in complete secrecy.
PU board director Ramegowda and Sarva Shikasha Abhiyan (SSA) state project director P C Jaffer formed a three-man committee to ensure a successful re-exam.
Primary and Secondary and Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar said precautions to conduct the exam smoothly are being taken and he also talked about a complete overhaul of the exams in the coming years.
The officials had to adopt greater precaution, following series of question paper leaks and the unearthing of a network behind the crime.
