Kalaburagi: Agriculture Minister Cheluvarayaswamy has stated that the e-KYC is vital for farmers to avail the benefits of government schemes. Speaking at a press conference, he emphasized that District Collectors, Zilla Panchayat CEOs, and other officials must work together to achieve significant progress in the district.
The availability of seeds and fertilizers required for cultivation is adequate in the state, with no shortages. The Joint Director of Agriculture should consider the opinions and suggestions of local representatives while implementing the scheme. Furthermore, he advised officials in the Water Resources Department to adhere the deadlines for plan implementation.
The current drought situation is somewhat unique, characterized as a “wet drought.” Planting crops without timely rainfall is anticipated to result in significantly reduced yields. Consequently, it’s crucial to conduct a crop damage assessment prior to the arrival of the central study team and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the on-ground situation. Authorities are urged to take the initiative in offering equitable compensation to the affected farmers.
