Kalaburagi: Government establishments, educational institutions, and businesses in the state are required to conduct their operations in Kannada. Members of the Veera Kannadigara Sena held a demonstration in front of the deputy commissioner’s office on Wednesday, advocating for the fulfillment of several demands, including a directive to display Kannada signboards.
Sena State President Amrita Patil Siranur emphasized, “Certain government offices, schools, and colleges are not conducting their affairs in Kannada, which is an inappropriate practice. This is causing difficulties for the public. Hence, we urge the government to promptly issue an order mandating operations in Kannada.
The demand for the construction of an international stadium in Kalaburagi, the focal point of Kalyana Karnataka, has been raised. Farmers throughout the district are facing hardships and are requesting compensation of Rs 20,000 per acre. Additionally, there is a call for the implementation of the Sarojini Mahishi report. It is also urged that the government issue a directive mandating local employment opportunities in companies within the state.
Ravi Onti, the Vice President of the Samiti, along with Shivaji Chavan, Siddu Kandagal, Rajnikanth Bhovi, Shivanand Chikkani, Hanamantha Injalli, Vitthalprakash Patil and several others were present during the event.
