Kundapur :Udupi District in-charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake has said that the investigation into the case of suspicious death of Ratna Kottari (17), a student of Shiroor Government College, is underway.
The Minister who visited the residence of the girl at Konamakki in Alandoor village of Byndoor Yadtare village, consoled the family members. Speaking to the waiting media men, the minister said special teams led by three circle inspectors of police have been formed to investigate the case.
District Superintendent of Police Boralingaiah who also spoke, said the post-mortem has been done and the initial reports have not said anything about rape and murder. Higher examination is underway, he said adding the body was decomposed.
A sum of Rs 25000 was provided to the family of Ratna on behalf of Udupi District Kottari Sangha. Raju Poojari, Taluk Panchayat Member, Nagaraj Shetty, Gram Panchayat President, Udaya Poojary, Member, Gopal Kottari, District Kottari Sangha President, Nagappa Kottari, community leader and others were present.
