Udupi: The Railway Yatri Sangha, Udupi and members of BJP together organized a grand welcome to the Mangalore – Madgaon, diesel electric multiple unit (DEMU) which started its service today, at Indrali station, Udupi on Tuesday July 1.






Earlier Railway Yatri Sangha has appealed the Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) to extend the Mangalore Central- Bhatkal Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) service up to Madgaon.
This train will depart from Madgaon at 5 am and reach Mangalore Central at 12.05 pm; the return train will depart from Mangalore Central at 2.35 pm to reach Madgaon at 10.30 p.m.
Railway Yatri Sangha president R L Dias said that there are many temples in this route and this extended train will be useful for those who wish to visit these place, as they have a two way service in a day to visit and come back.
Dias added that if this extension would have not done now the service might have stopped. On this occasion he thanked Sindu, the RRM Karwar.
Committee members Damodhar Ithal, K Ramachadra Acharya, Shekar Kotain, Uday Kumar Shetty, Geethanjali Suvarna and others were present.
