Udupi: Employees of Nitte Lamina Foundries Limited staged a protest under the banner of CITU demanding salary hike and revocation of the lockout which started on December 6th, in front of DC office on Wednesday, December 10.
While speaking to the media Umanand Devadiga, President Factory committee said that it is Injustice against the employees by the management. It is a long pending demand to hike salary by at least Rs.1000 per month, which is been completely ignored by the management.

The workers came all the way from Karkala and staged a rally from Tiger circle to DC office.
He added it has been followed that after every 3 years, company asks for the demand memorandum and settles the same after negotiation, but this year they denied the demand to increase the salary up to Rs.3000 and agreed to pay only to pay Rs. 600.
Later the union demanded an increase of at least Rs 1,150. But now the Management has agreed to increase salary up to Rs. 800. Devadiga, said that the price of every commodity is constantly increasing and we cannot survive with such small amount of hike.
The employees who have been working from the last 30-35 years are not paid even 10,000.
He added that memorandum will be given through DC and Minister In Charge to the government.
Dinesh Poojari, Ravi Poojari, Kusuma, Amani, Sarojini, Vijay Kulal, Lawrence and others participated in the protest.
