Karkala: “The minds of the youth  are just like the Jog Falls which looks amazing with water gushing in from a height. However as the water flows  ahead   it loses  its original charm. It is only when this water is  stored in  a dam called discipline and  released through a canal called patience that  it can reap a  yield called good personality,” said Baby Eshwaramangala,  Kannada Lecturer in Government Pre-University College, Karkala.

He was delivering a talk on ‘Sahitya Sanskriti Abhiruchi’ organised by the Literary Association of Sri Bhuvanendra College on Thursday July 3.

“Students may naturally  raise the question as to why they should know about literature and culture. It is only when  we open our eyes wide and hear attentively that we can realise the richness of literature. Students should be inquisitive,” he said.

Dr P Venkatramana Gowda, Principal of Bhuvanendra college, presided over the function and urged students to develop the habit of reading good literary works.

Dr. S. R. Arun Kumar, Convenor of the Literary Association, Chiranth Jain, Secretary and others were present. Shushrutha Jain proposed the vote of thanks.
