Karkala: A depressed man ended life by hanging himself on Thursday night.

The deceased is Prakash Shetty (30) from Miyaru Mosarugudde village in Karkal taluk.

It is said that about two years ago, Shetty had suffered multiple injuries and had a narrow escape from death after jumping off third floor of City hospital here, when he was caught by a group of men for climbing up the hospital.

While Shetty had climbed the building to give parcel of food to a nurse, with whom he was in love with, the men who thrashed him black and blue had thought he was stalking the nurse.

After the incident, the nurse had slit her wrist and ended life. The loss and the shameful incident had pushed Shetty into depression.

The local police have registered the case and are investigating.
