Yuvaraj, Amrutha elected Udupi CMC President, Vice President

Udupi :Yuvaraj of Subrahmanyanagar Ward and Amrutha Krishnamurthy of Kinnimulky ward, both  of the Congress were elected the President and Vice President respectively of Udupi City Municipal Council. The elections for the two posts were held on September 12, Thursday.

The Congress had secured a clear majority in the CMC elections by winning 22 out of the 35 seats, while BJP bagged 12 seats. If the post of President was reserved for an SC candidate, the Vice Preisdents post was reserved for a general category woman candidate. Interestingly, ten lady councilors of the Congress were vying for the post of vice president.
