Mangalore: A youth who had been missing since Thursday January 16, was found dead at Sultan Battery, near Tannir Bavi on Friday January 17. The police have suspected it to be a case of suicide.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Shailesh Shetty who hails from Kavoor. Shailesh was a bright student as well as a council leader of a reputed college in the town, he had been currently working.

Reportedly, Shailesh did not return on Thursday evening due to which his family got agonized and tried to search him, as they could not locate him they then filed a complaint at Kavoor police station.

During the search operation on Friday, his footwear and bike were found near Tannir Bavi beach as there were no other evidence it has been speculated that he might have jumped in to the sea.

According to the source, Shailesh was engaged and scheduled to get married soon. Although it is said that financial problem had driven him to take this extreme step.
