Young rider loses life in bike-tanker collision

Mangalore : A youth met a tragic end in a collision between a bullet tanker and  his bike  on the new Netravathi bridge late night  on Tuesday, April 1.

The deceased youth is Navaraj Kulal (26). He was  working for a private company which was awarded the contract of issuing water bills in Mangalore City Corporation. The accident occurred when  Navaraj was on way  home after attending a function at Udupi. He  hailed from Tokkottu Bhatnagara.

It is learnt, Navaraj’s bike was behind the bullet tanker which was speeding on the bridge. However, the tanker driver applied sudden brake at the end portion of the bridge, taking Navaraj unawares. His bike then hit the tanker from the rear end.Navaraj who sustained  critical injuries breathed his last.

Navaraj who was working as a water bill reader, is the eldest son of his parents. Ullal Police have registered a case.
