Woman held for smuggling 2 kg gold at Mangalore airport

Mangalore : DRI sleuths at the Mangalore International Airport have seized gold weighing two kg from a family of three which arrived by an Air India Express from Dubai.

The gold including chains and biscuits were found wrapped and hidden in the undergarments of the woman. This is the first time that a woman has been caught smuggling gold.

Those detained are Arshad Ali Mushtaq Ahmed (30) from Bhatkal, his wife Fathima Nasreen (29) and their four-year-old son.

Investigations are under progress.
