Beltangady : A pregnant woman died of lightning in nearby Gerukatte, here on Thursday May 30 evening.

The deceased has been identified as twenty-three-year-old Samida, wife of Iqbal, residing in Janata Colony, Gerukatte, near here.  The lightning struck Samida who was five-month pregnant while engaged in bidi rolling sitting besides the window.

The Tahsildar Srinivas visited the family of Samida.

Beltangdy police registered a case in this regard.

The autopsy has been done at Government Hospital here.
