Mangaluru: A young woman lost her life after coming under the wheels of a local bus, in Kadri on Wednesday morning.

The lady was on her two-wheeler when the vehicle skid near Chef’s restaurant in Kadri. Within few seconds, a bus plying on route No-15 ran over, killing her on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Joyline Monis(24), lecturer at St Agnes College and daughter of John Monis, editor of a Konkani monthly magazine.

Though the lady was wearing a helmet, due to the impact of the mishap, her helmet was crushed into pieces, again reinstating the need to wear good quality helmets on daily basis.

Angry locals who gathered at the spot turned irritated when ambulance and the traffic police did not reach the spot for over 45 minutes.

They even threatened to beat up some who were photographing the incident.
