Bengaluru: Kagodu Thimmappa, Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker, reprimanded ruling Congress and opposition BJP members for being stubborn in their positions over the Puttur temple invitation row.

The invitation for the Shree Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur taluk of coastal Dakshina Kannada district with the name of deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim was issued by the State government.

The arguments came to an end after T B Jayachandra, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, assured that the Act will be amended to remove barriers of religion in conducting the temple festival in future.
