Mangalore :Dinesh Holla, an environmentalist and member of Sahyadri Samrakshana Sanchaya said the politicians from the plains have betrayed the people of the Coast when it comes to Nethravati diversion project. Several Environmental groups, farmers association and the locals have banded together to up the ante against the Netravati Diversion project.

Speaking to the reporters on Friday February 21,he said, Dr veerappa Moily the Union Minister and the State Government has expressed a strong support to the project despite several protests by the locals which is condemnable. Prior to the elections Moily had assured that he would not allow the Netravati diversion project to proceed, but later he forgot his promise.

Other politicians like former chief minister of Karnataka D.V Sadananda Gowda and Ramanath Rai minister for forest and ecology and district in-charge minister also are in favour of the project. Thus People of DK should boycott the Lok Sabha election as both the Congress and BJP have failed to safeguard the interest of the locals.

Rajesh Devadiga, Madhav, Dinesh Kodialbail and Harish Adyar many others were present during the press meet.
