Mangaluru: In a protest against Vinayak Baliga’s murder case, Rationalist Narendra Nayak said that Congress implemented RTI rule, but now it is not responding for an RTI activist’s murder. Not only Congress, BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel is also not bothered about the BJP party worker’s death.

“The politicians of Mangaluru are dumb and the people here are deaf. They have no time to fight for justice against builder-mafia and such underground organisations. Today Baliga died, but tomorrow it could be your turn,” he said.

He further said, “This is not a condolence meet. We have gathered here to demand justice to Baliga’s murder. He was murdered at the Venkataramana Temple road. But none of the GSB leaders are here to protest against his murder. Whatever may be the impact of this case, we will not stop our protest until we get justice.”

“Somebody said that Baliga was blackmailing the builders. But the investigation report says that he was not involved in such activities. The prime suspect of this case applied for bail through his lawyer. When he can meet his lawyer for the bail, why can’t the police find him?” he questioned.

“This fight is not against any community or for Baliga, we are fighting for humanity,” he added.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said that nobody is denying that there is no pressure to close this case. A lot of attempts are going on to save some leaders. Someone has filed a PIL in court to change the investigation team. But, the Police Commissioner has promised that the guilty will be punished.

DYFI District President Dayananda Shetty, Vice President B K Imtiyaaz, RTI activists and others were present.
