Mysore: The public grievance redressal meeting and a phone-in programme organised at the DC office in the city on February 20, Thursday saw a downpour of maximum grievances pertaining to water problem. Of the 19 calls received in the phone-in programme, most were pertaining to water thereby making the administration feel the pinch of the water problem well before the onset of summer.

Chikkayya, a caller from Koogalur in Nanjangud poured out his grievance and said a bore well dug up near the government school was out of order resulting in water problem. He accused officials of inaction and even complained of an illegal liquor outlet in a house in front of the school. Responding to the problem, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shikha assured a solution within a week.
Suma, a teacher from K,R. Nagar who was another caller complained that her school was not giving her the service certificate despite several applications. She said she who joined the Kasturba School in 1999 was suspended due to some reasons as per a Supreme Court ruling in 2003. Though she got another job later on, the earlier school was not issuing her service certificate.
The DC assured to look into the problem and do the needful.
A caller named Manja from HD Kote pleaded sanction of site for a Patrika Bhavan in the taluk while Mohan sought a proper bus stand for Nanjangud. Complaints regarding land encroachment, unauthorised layouts etc also came up.
PG Ramesh, Corporation Commissioner, Palayya, MUDA Commissioner, PA Gopal, ZP CEO, Tahsildars and government officials were present.
