Vitla Minor rape case: Accused sent to judicial custody

Bantwal :Bobbekeri Basheer and Radhukatte Basheer the prime accused in the case of the rape of a minor girl were produced in court and have been sent to judicial custody till June 3.

The City Crime Branch under the leadership of SP Dr Sharanappa and a special police team recently arrested them in Gujrat.

A call by Bobbekeri Basheer the prime accused,  to his wife helped the police to nab them in Gujarat.

On May 17, Okha marine police sub-inspector took Radhukatte Basheer and Bakuta Basheer into custody. The accused were then handed over to Vittal police sub-inspector Raghavendra and other personnel, who brought them to Vittal police station on Tuesday May 20.

It may be recalled that on April 14, they allegedly took the 14-year-old girl of  Idkidu to Madikeri and raped her repeatedly for three days.  Their friend Jabbar, who came to know of the incident, took advantage of her and threatened to pour acid and kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone, said the complaint filed by the girl in Vittal police station.
