Udupi :”Great Ideas come from intuition, not from association. To achieve success better to choose unique path” said 80-year-old renowned scientist C.N.R. Rao on Wednesday.

He was speaking in an interaction programme with students organised at Poornaprajna Institute of Management.

Dr. Rao said “parents are the worst guide in India, they force their children to go down the same path where they want to reach – such decisions will create unhappy professionals”.

“The Future of the country is in science and technology”. Modern technology has made human beings “a machine”. he stressed that machinery like mobile and laptop are used  to fulfill our requirement but it does not have life value”.

“Political and bureaucratic interference spoil the educational system in India”. “Teaching a teacher is a very important in India”. He said the way chemistry was taught in schools in the country was terrible. “Chemistry is now a highly inter-disciplinary subject,”. He  said he was inspired after reading ‘The Nature of the Chemical Bond and the Structure of Molecules and Crystals’ by Nobel laureate Linus Pauling.

Interaction with media:

While speaking to the media, he said “I have belief in the Modi-led government. I hope he will give preference to science and technology”.  “I had sent many proposals to the previous government, a few are fulfilled and others are pending”

He suggested that,  the Industrialists should come forward to help the government financially.  So, the new government must focus on collecting money from industrialists for the development of science and technology.”
