Moodbidri : Hore Kanike has begun to pour in for the four-day Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat scheduled to commence at Vidyagiri here on December 19. The Ugrana Muhurtha was performed on December 15, Sunday by Mijarguttu Anand Alva.
Former minister K Amarnath Shetty, Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation and the brain behind Vishwa Nudisiri, Vivek Alva, Trustee of the Foundation. Dr Chinnappa Gowda, professor in Mangalore University, Dugge Gowda, Udupi District Director of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, Vijaya Nagavala, Agricultural Officer and others were present.
On Sunday as much as 216 quintals of rice and 35000 coconuts have landed in the Nudisiri store house or Ugrana in the form of donations. A total of 210 quintals of rice from Bantwal taluk under the leadership of Chandrahas Ra, 25000 coconuts under the leadership of Diwaker Rai of Sullia, 5000 coconuts and six quintals rice from Kaup Yogish Shetty and 5000 coconuts from Belthangady taluk were offered through Hore Kanike on Sunday.
