VHP and Bhajrangdal protest turns violent

Udupi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bhajrangdal staged a protest opposing the arrest of District Goraksha Dal leader Dinesh Mendon on Saturday February 15 which soon turned brutal as the aggressive agitators sabotaged a police jeep and two shops including the surrounding.

The police was forced to resort to a Lathi charge to bring the situations under control.

After the chaos endeed, the Congress workers under the aegis of the Brahmavar Block Congress started protesting in front of the local police station demanding action against all those responsible for the violence. The party legislators and parliamentarian too were present.
However the police assured the protestors that necessary action will be taken.

Reportedly three complaints have been lodged with the police in connection with the incidents.
