Mangalore: The Veerarani Abbakka Utsava Samiti organized a press meet on Monday February 3, to announce the awardees of the prestigious Veerarani Abbakka Award.

The Committee member of Veerarani Abbakka Utsava Samiti informed that the Veerarani Abbakka Award 2014 – 15, will be awarded to Dr Gayatri Navada a philosopher and researcher.A prominent writer Sheela Shetty will also receive the award.

The Veerarani Abbakka Award will carry prize money worth Rs 20000 and a certification to the awardees. The Award ceremony will be held on February 18, at the Government PU College premises at Mudupi in Bantwal Taluk.

The award will be presented  by CM Siddaramaiah in the presence of Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khadar and M Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor at Nitte University.
